Scene 01 Ext. An ATM in Saket, Delhi. Night, 2015.
One MacBook, one iPad, two iPhones.

Paid ₹50,000
100% bricks0% MacBook
- 2015. I had taught digital marketing for six hours. On the way home I stopped at an ATM.
- A man was selling gadgets “cleared from a Customs site”. A MacBook for my friend Saurabh, an iPad for Roshni. I paid ₹50,000 and raced home.
- “All I found was a bag full of bricks.”
- “We laughed off at this as a joke and moved on becoming wiser.”How the story ends when I tell it
Lesson 01
Never make a money decision while you are emotional.
“While taking financial decisions, don’t let emotions clutter your mind.”
Scene 02 Rewind. Class 10. Time to pick a stream.
I chose the stream that looked like an ice-cream.

- Non-medical, commerce or medical. Three flavours. Pick one for life.
- “My parents told me, I had only one job. That was just to beat the mob.”Me, in a rhyming rant about school, 2014
- At Hansraj College I built a robot that could follow a line. I was following one too.
Lesson 02
Don’t follow the line. Ask why.
“We all know a 2 year old would be more curious than most of us today.”
Scene 03 Int. A rented room. Night, early 2011.
I made my first $100 from Google. Then Google banned me.

AdSense $100
Account disabled
- My college friend Saurabh got me into an MLM that sold domains and hosting. We pitched about 400 people. I did not like the selling.
- “I fell in love with Websites :)”What I got out of it
- Then I found a trick. I spent two hours pasting my link to strangers on Omegle, and my AdSense account showed almost $100.
- We threw a party. Next morning Google wrote to me: “Your Account has been disabled.” The cheque never came.
Lesson 03
Shortcuts get banned. Do it the right way.
“If you want to survive you will do it the right way, and that’s where the journey began.”
Scene 04 Int. A small room. MBA days, 2013.
An ₹18 lakh MBA did not teach me digital marketing. A blog did.

- So in 2013, during my MBA internship, I started a blog called Geekotech. I wrote about tech, trolls and Indian parent logic.
- At 23 I started a show called TechPreneurShup and interviewed founders like Shradha Sharma and Vishal Gondal.
- “I never thought… ‘College would add any value to me’ but Fate is for REAL.”On Prof. Vinod Achanta, who had me co-host a workshop for 50 entrepreneurs
- Then Facebook bought WhatsApp, an old post of mine caught fire, and I got almost a lakh visits in a few days.
Lesson 04
Start your email list on day one.
“From 2010 to 2014 I was not building an email list and that’s a sin, to be honest.”
Scene 05 Int. A classroom at DSIM, Gurgaon. 2014.
For three months I was not a good teacher.

3,000+ trained

- “My body was exposed to ultra violet rays of corporatism.”My first month in an office, 2014
- “Whoa Gaurav, you need to really improve yourself.”Me, reading my student feedback. Watch me say it
- So for two years I did nothing else. I trained with all my heart: more than 3,000 professionals, business owners and students.
- When I left, my students and I made a farewell video. More than 8 lakh views. The boss ran it as an ad for four years.
Lesson 05
Find a mentor. Then become one.
“I have had 2 Mentors and without them I would still be stumbling in the Internet wave.”
Scene 06 Int. An event in Dehradun. 2016.
All it takes is one bold decision.

- Roshni Dhal worked in HR. She came to help Saurabh and me promote our first course at an event in Dehradun.
- “That’s where I asked her if she would be wanting to explore the Digital World more.”
- She said yes. Today she is my co-founder, the “Executionist” behind our launches, and a LinkedIn Top Voice with 230,000 followers.
Lesson 06
There is no competition. Only collaborators.
“Getting a Partner in Business can save your Sanity… Co Founders are god sent.”
Scene 07 Int. A very small office. 2016.
Our first big client had Grammarly built into his brain.

Calling: client (oops)
Client firedHis bill to us: ₹18,000
- Roshni and I started an agency called HighonM. This client moved into an OYO near our office so he could watch us work.
- “He would call us into his temporary workspace, watching over us like a hawk.”
- One evening I called him by mistake instead of Roshni. He started listing complaints. I snapped and told him we were done.
- He said we owed him ₹18,000. “This absurd demand was the last straw.”
Lesson 07
Stop trading time for money.
That is when Roshni and I decided to build digital products instead.
Scene 08 Int. A bed, a laptop, a launch. December 2016.
Flop. Then a million dollars.

Flop
$500,000in eighteen months
- Our first course was an instant hit in India. So we tried the world with a new one, Maxa Page Profits.
- “We launched it on WarriorPlus, then we failed again.”Me, telling it in 2022. Watch me say it
- They wanted software, not courses. Twenty-eight days later Saurabh and I launched Live Suite Pro on JVZoo, with Jai Sharma as our mentor.
- Eighteen months later we had sold half a million dollars of software. Then a million. All from India.
Lesson 08
Build from here. Sell everywhere.
“Trial and Error until I got what I wanted.” The world doesn’t care about your pin code.
